APPLICATION PROCESSING SERVICES

 

While we offer applicants, college personnel, secondary school counselors, ministry officials and others a wide range of services, application processing will always be the heart of what OCAS is and does. Each year we process more than 150,000 applications from people wishing to go to college. Roughly 98% of these applications come to us online.

 

OCAS was created to simplify the application experience for the applicant. Instead of forcing the applicant to repeat everything involved in the application process separately for each college of interest, OCAS serves as a centralized, one-stop, processing centre. OCAS also serves applicants by transmitting (and in some cases collecting) their grades so that they no longer need to supply multiple colleges with transcripts.

 

Recently, OCAS and the colleges have expanded the application processing service to include online confirmations. Applicants now have the ability to confirm an offer of admission through ontariocolleges.ca. As part of this particular service, applicants have the ability to check the status of any offers they receive.

 

OCAS is continually looking for ways to enhance the application experience for our customers. For colleges we look at how to collect additional data that is important for admission purposes, and for applicants we look at how to further simplify the online application process.
