Manager, Finance


At OCAS, we’re looking for an experienced Manager, Finance to join our dedicated finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on our financial performance, guiding and mentoring our operational accounting team, and ensuring finance requirements are embedded into all of the organization’s projects.

While preparing presentations for OCAS’ Executive team and Board, you will create numeric and narrative financial analyses that are easily understood and intuitive to help inform decision-making for both financial and non-financial leaders. You will advocate for the needs and requirements of finance in project planning and execution across the organization and lead the delivery of accounting services to our partners within the higher education system.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead operational accounting team
  • Prepare regular financial, statistical, and related management information packages
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate the completion of multi-year capital and operating plans
  • Manage cash and expense management and reconciliation activities
  • Manage fixed asset control and reporting functions
  • Oversee the completion of all statutory reporting submissions and requirements
  • Co-ordinate the preparation of annual financial statement audits
  • Support the OCAS Board of Directors, Audit Committee, and Executive team in the provision of information for use in decision-making

You should have:

  • A CPA designation
  • A postsecondary diploma or degree
  • 10+ years of practical accounting experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and organization skills
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills

Desirable experience with:

  • Internal financial reporting
  • Project costing
  • MS Dynamics NAV software package
  • A not-for-profit accounting environment
