Senior Financial Analyst

At OCAS, we’re looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Financial Analyst. A strong communicator and problem solver, you’ll work with the Finance team to deliver exceptional financial services within our own organization, as well as to our external partners.

Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, as a Senior Financial Analyst at OCAS, you’ll help others turn financial transactions into insights that inform their business decisions. Within our small but mighty Finance team, you’ll provide support to all levels of the organization, be hands-on with month-end reconciliations, prepare department reports, and provide insights from your analysis on our results compared to budgets and forecasts. Using your ability to thinking outside the box and challenge the norm, you’ll help drive process improvements and efficiencies within our team and throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting duties, including, but not limited to:
    • Preparing month-end account and bank reconciliations
    • Posting and adjusting GL entries
    • Preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis
    • Providing input on the budgeting and ongoing forecasting process
    • Preparing year-end audit working papers
  • Participating in ongoing projects as a representative of the Finance team by building financial projections and scenario options, tracking and providing reports on project pool balances, and ensuring finance needs are incorporated into project plans.
  • Various ad-hoc duties, including, but not limited to:
    • Process gap analysis
    • Cross-functional finance initiative coordination
    • Identify and recommend ways to increase process efficiencies
    • Provide backup and support to other members of the Finance team
    • Provide support to OCAS and partner employees to help navigate finance questions
Qualifications
  • Obtained, or in pursuit of, a CPA designation
  • A postsecondary diploma or degree
  • 6+ years of practical accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships within and external to the organization
  • Ability to handle diverse and competing priorities
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office software
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working independently and as a contributing member of a team
  • Know when to seek guidance from others when required
Desirable Experience With:
  • Internal financial reporting
  • Project costing
  • MS Dynamics NAV software package
  • Experience working within Power BI
