Web Developer

At OCAS, we’re looking for an experienced and outstanding web developer to join our growing team as Web Developer. As a web developer at OCAS, you’ll put your creativity and technical competence to work building professional, engaging websites that delight visitors, while also meeting the needs and expectations of our customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Write code that meets our internal development standards for code quality
  • Write unit tests to ensure the appropriate amount of code coverage
  • Participate in peer code review
  • Work closely with team members, including other developers, testers, and product owners to groom upcoming development work to set the team and its sprint up for success
  • Work with graphic and UX designers to understand the product vision and translate the design into a technical product
  • Participate in the creation of new websites, as well as the improvement of existing websites
  • Maintain and improve Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Communicate ideas for design and functionality visually with diagrams or mock-ups as necessary

You should have:

  • A technical college or university credential in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another similar discipline
  • A portfolio of websites that you’ve built yourself or to which you’re the primary contributor
  • 5+ years of experience developing websites using Web Content Management (WCM) platforms
  • Experience in web development using Microsoft technology, particularly ASP.NET MVC
  • Exceptional knowledge and competency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with one or more .NET-based WCM products (Agility CMS, Umbraco, Sitecore, Sitefinity)
  • Knowledge of CSS frameworks, such as Bootstrap, and CSS preprocessors (Sass, LESS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, JIRA, or another similar SDLC tool
  • Experience with git or another distributed source control system
  • Ability to work with other developers following Agile delivery principles
  • Experience with consuming private backend APIs and public APIs, including, but not limited to, various social media platforms
  • Full command of designing and building for any device using responsive design principles
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio and/or Visual Studio Code
  • A solid foundation for implementing with SEO and accessibility best practices
  • Familiarity with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics)

Other desirable experience:

  • One or more front-end JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, Knockout.js, Node.js, jQuery)
  • Developing components with Typescript
  • Creating and editing graphics in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Building/maintaining websites in PHP
  • Open source WCMs (WordPress, Drupal)
