This position is being offered as a 6-month contract to replace an existing vacancy. Depending on organizational needs and project developments, there is potential for the contract to be extended or converted to full-time. This is a hybrid position requiring three days in our Guelph office each week.
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Governance, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information crucial to organizational decision-making. This role encompasses key responsibilities across accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations throughout OCAS.
Leveraging advanced accounting expertise and sharp analytical skills, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners, handles month-end reconciliations, prepares financial reports, and delivers insightful analysis. With strong organizational skills and a drive for continuous improvement, this position supports all levels of the Finance team and all levels of the organization, helping to drive process enhancements across OCAS.

Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting duties, including month-end account and bank reconciliations, posting and adjusting general ledger entries, preparing monthly financial reports and variance analyses, contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, and preparing year-end audit working papers.
- Represent the Finance team in cross-functional projects, develop financial projections and scenario analyses, monitor and report on budget and forecast-to-actual results, and ensure financial information is clearly communicated throughout the organization.
- Take on ad-hoc assignments such as process gap analysis, coordinating cross-functional Finance initiatives, identifying and recommending efficiency improvements, providing backup and support to team members, and assisting OCAS and partner employees with finance-related queries.
Qualifications:
- CPA designation obtained or currently in progress
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- 6+ years of hands-on accounting experience
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
- Demonstrated capacity to manage diverse and competing priorities
- Strong computer proficiency, including mastery of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member
- Recognizes when to seek guidance from others as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience tailoring financial reporting to different audiences
- Knowledge of revenue and cost tracking across departments, services, and projects
- Experience with MS Dynamics Business Central ERP System
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Experience working within macros, Power BI, and Power Pivot
The pay range for this position is $43-48/hour and depending on skills and previous experience.
