OCAS Announces Winners for the ontariocolleges.ca Changing Tomorrow Award

June 28, 2018

GUELPH, ON:

After reviewing over one thousand submissions for the ontariocolleges.ca Changing Tomorrow Award, OCAS is pleased to announce the 25 winners.

OCAS, the organization behind the research and explore website ontariocolleges.ca, is the centralized technology service for Ontario’s 26 public colleges. For 25 years, they have provided the tools, information and support for individuals pursuing a brighter future through an Ontario college education.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary the OCAS team introduced the ontariocolleges.ca Changing Tomorrow Award – an essay-based award that asked entrants to share what their tomorrow looks like, and how a college education will help them turn their dreams into reality.

Submissions poured in from all over Ontario, and over a dozen members of the OCAS team volunteered their time to narrow the 1000-plus submissions down to 25 winners.

“Having the chance to make a difference in the world is what drives us here at OCAS,” says Karen Creditor, President & CEO. “Giving back through this award was a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary, and we are proud to be helping people to imagine and shape their futures. We wish our winners the best of luck in their college journeys.”

Winners of the award have already had their $500 tuition deposits paid to their chosen colleges by OCAS, and will receive an additional $1000 cash award in their fall semester.

Profiles of the winners, including excerpts from their submissions, can be found at ontariocolleges.ca.
